Why should I choose Dr. Kim as my implant surgeon?
Dr. Kim here.
Choosing an implant surgeon for your dental implants can be difficult. If a dentist has a license, they can place dental implants, but that doesn't mean that they should. I have been restoring dental implants since 1999 and have been placing them surgically since 2005. I have been trained and mentored by top surgeons in the field and continue to dedicate most of my continuing education seminars to dental implant surgery.
I use 3D imaging to help me safely and predictably place dental implants and use 3D surgical guides to ensure the best possible outcome. Although the mouth can never be sterilized or bacteria free, I try as much as possible to work in a sterile field...all the wrappings, handles, materials and (of course) instruments are sterilized and monitored for sterilization. The type of implants I use is legitimate and widely used... no "knock-off" or "bargain" implants. In addition, I use your own blood and stem cells known as "PRF" or platelet-rich fibrin and CGF or concentrated growth factors to help you heal better and prevent postoperative complications with dental implant surgeries. If I can't do something for you, then I will let you know right away before we are knee deep into treatment.
Dental Implant Process
The whole procedure and fees are discussed in the beginning...what is involved, how long it will take, what sort of discomfort to expect, complications that can happen, medications before and after the surgery, the prognosis of the dental implants, the chance of it succeeding, how the healing process goes and all the fees associated with procedures...in other words, no surprises in any aspect. Communication is very important because although dental implants are very common nowadays and a fairly straightforward procedure most of the times, they are much different than getting a filling or a crown.
Also, should something go wrong, because sometimes despite everything going well and everything done textbook, complications can happen, I have the experience to handle them. They say, in calm seas, everyone is a captain or pilot. When the seas get choppy or rough, you really want someone who can "pilot" through to get you to blue skies.
