Sensitive Teeth in Glendale CA, Dr. Lucio H. Kim, DDS

We all get it once in a while. Some people have it all the time.

But sensitivity in your teeth to cold things, sweet things, hot things, hard foods, chewy foods, everything...is a sign of something bigger.

What Does Tooth Sensitivity Mean?

Your teeth are telling you to pay attention.  The causes run the whole gamut: gum recession, cavities, really big cavities, gum infections, wisdom teeth, clenching or grinding of your teeth, trauma, failing fillings or failing dental work. If your teeth are sensitive in general every once in a while...few times a year...not a big deal usually. Happens to everyone.  If one tooth or area is consistently sensitive or if it is getting worse over the hours or days, then most likely you have a problem and getting in to see what the issue is ASAP is better than "waiting to see if it goes away".  Because sometimes it doesn't go away.  And sometimes it gets really really bad very quickly.  And it will happen on a 4:55 pm on a Friday...on Christmas weekend...when you are away...on safari in the jungle.  You get my meaning.
