Dental Insurance Simplification in Glendale CA, Dr. Lucio H. Kim, DDS

Canker Sores

Canker Sore Remedies, Dr. Lucio H. Kim,DDS, Glendale CA

So painful and so annoying.

If you get a canker sore, here are a couple things you can do: 1) Warm Salt water rinses. Helps keep the sore bacteria free so that it heals faster. 2) Powdered Alum.  Get it at the store and place a pinch of it on a moist Q-Tip.  Apply it to the sore area for about 5 seconds, then rinse well.  *Warning* This hurts like a #$*! for that 5 seconds. It's a chemical cauterization of the sore.  But you get relief afterwards.

Now how to prevent them in the first place. Use a "SLS" sodium laurel sulfate free toothpaste. Gets some rest! Lots of Vitamin A, ...

It's the circle of life.  Nothing in your body is independent of everything else.  But for some reason, people disassociate their mouth from the rest of their bodies. It's all the same biology.  And your oral health can directly affect other areas of your overall health.  1) Your Heart : Patients with active gum disease or poor gum health overall are almost TWICE as likely to have heart disease.  The bacteria activates an inflammatory reaction in your blood vessels making them more prone to disease. 2) Your Mind: Poor  oral health has been linked to dementia and Alzheimer's.  Don't forget to floss before you forget about everything else! 3) You ...
