I get this all the time. Patients don't think that they grind/clench their teeth. And then I show them pictures where their teeth look like they were used to stop Fred Flinstone's car or multiple fracture lines across the teeth or fillings or crowns have made the tooth look like they are ready to explode in slow motion. Then I hear "those are MY teeth"?!?! But this is understandable. The damage happens over a long period of time very slowly and when people clench/grind, they are usually sleeping.
